A Codeword puzzle.

In a CodeWord puzzle, each letter used in the puzzle is assigned a number, and when the puzzle is printed, this number is inserted into the cell instead of the letter. To complete the puzzle, the solver must work out which letter corresponds to each of the numbers.

A Scratch Pad table is printed along with the puzzle and can be used by the solver to record the best guess as to what this relationship might be. Similarly, a Used Letter table can be used to record which letters have been used so far in the solution.

This graphic demonstrates the fact the Crossword Express puzzles can be printed or exported in a wide range of selectable colours. If the colours shown here are not to your taste, remember that each item of the puzzle may be rendered in any one of over 16 million different colours.

If you point your mouse cursor to any location within the bounds of the puzzle, then most web browsers will dispaly a set of icons in the top left hand corner of the puzzle area. One of these icons will be a printer, and clicking it will result in the puzzle being sent to your printer.
